The New York Mets apparently must wait until the Winter Meetings commence on December 8th to begin talks with star closer Francisco Rodriguez.
K-Rod evidently is looking for around $15 million per year after saving 62 games for the Dodgers last season. It is a lot of money and a big risk since he also will be looking for a long term deal. However, Mets fans suffering from historic late season collapses the past two years---mainly due to a criminally negligent bull pen, want something done!
It is risky, and it is a ton of cash, but we simply cannot endure the worst bullpen in MLB another year.
